Digital admission controls: Smart, easy and flexible

Whether at large events or stationary events, admission control is a challenge in itself. A digital admission control system helps organizers to effectively master these logistical difficulties.

Problems and challenges with admission control

For event staff and organizers, admission control is always a major challenge - whether it's for age-restricted offers or simply controlling the number of people:

  • For optimal organization, it is important that visitor flows are tracked
  • Queues should be kept as short as possible.
  • Maximum security must be ensured within the queues.
  • It is important to identify people who should not be allowed to enter. These can be visitors who are banned from the premises, but also underage guests. Without intelligent
  • software solutions, it is hardly possible to reliably identify these groups of people. After all, a beard, a different haircut or a new hair color can greatly change the appearance.
  • If waiting time cannot be avoided, it is important to provide interesting offers, for example in the form of an (interactive) video wall.

Digital admission control helps organizers of major events with this logistical feat. It can also be used wherever tighter control is required. This includes, for example, venues with a limited number of visitors, but also casinos. Therefore, digital admission control is also helpful in complying with legislation and avoiding penalties.

 

Digital signage systems: For fast and digital admission control

  1. The system clearly communicates via a traffic light when visitors are allowed to enter. Otherwise, an acoustic warning tone sounds.
  2. The system records all accesses by sensor.
  3. The traffic light switches to red when the maximum number of visitors has been reached.

This form of digital access control is effective, intuitive and easy to understand at the same time.

But the traffic light system used here is also used in other areas. Often, individualized displays are used instead of general digital admission control. This also includes the integration of personalized advertising content, as is often the case with waiting room TVs in doctors' offices or hotel displays.

 

How does a digital admission control system work?

Electronic customer or visitor counting is at the heart of digital access control. With the help of modern technology, it is possible to find out how many people are currently in a particular area. Which technology is suitable for this depends on the premises. Basically, however, these are always sensors that can measure and record the flow of visitors in compliance with data protection regulations. In this way, the system shows those responsible, for example, whether additional customers are allowed to enter a store.

To ensure that digital admission control serves its purpose, it is particularly important to visualize relevant information. If no entry is currently possible, it is necessary to display this graphically. Otherwise, visitors may become disgruntled and frustrated. The visualization is done, for example, via a digital signage display. In principle, almost any info display is suitable for digital admission control, as long as it can display the desired information quickly and easily.
