Digital signage player and signboard manufacturer IAdea shows new interactive solution for point of sale

Support for SMIL and HTML5

Schönkirchen, 08.09.2013 - The digital signage manufacturer IAdea Corp. has added interactive GPIO modules to its product series for interaction between the customer and the digital signage application at the point of sale. Thus, for example, in the XMP player series, push buttons can be used to play different videos - matching the product selected by the customer.

"Interaction is increasingly becoming the focus of customers. We have adapted all of our product series to this. Be it in the XMP series based on the Linux operating system as well as in our new IAdea Android tablet series," said Björn Christiansen of IAdea Corp.

The XMP-3450 Live SMIL player combines an external live video input with the dynamics of HTML5 content to create one of the best digital signage players. An RS-232 port also allows on/off control of professional monitors.

The XMP-3450 is ideal for venues such as sports stadiums or concert halls: it is designed to display live events via analog composite A/V cables. With the same digital signage technology, live TV broadcasts can be shown using a receiver-tuner box (not included). Thanks to the open programming standard SMIL, integrators can quickly include tickers and photo galleries to enrich the live event with thematic designs.

The XMP-3450 is equipped with the latest wireless LAN technology and effectively reduces installation and deployment costs in the digital signage sector. However, through an external USB module, the XMP-3350 can also be integrated into a 3G mobile network.

The XMP-3450 meets the highest hardware video decoding performance requirements in the industry. Advanced HDMI connectivity delivers video and stereo audio in digital signage applications in full HD at 1080p digital over a single cable. Support for S1 through S12 media profiles defined by POPAI, the industry's standards body, simplifies device selection and content creation. RTSP multicast streaming enables real-time videocasting in stadiums and university facilities.

The SMIL standard is the industry's most widely supported digital scoreboard platform; it delivers superior new hardware while allowing existing management software to continue to be used. IAdea partners with leading management solution suppliers to offer a complete line of connected display panel solutions; devices range from compact full digital display panels to full HD Blu-ray quality video players to meet the needs of all digital signage projects.
